OUR MISSION
The Children's College Professional Childcare Services exists to provide a safe, culturally and developmentally appropriate environment for toddlers and preschoolers. We created an environment that first engages and then stimulates; physical, social/emotional and cognitive development with a goal to maximize their potential. Our mission is to support each child to meet their full potential so that they leave The Children’s College ready to learn and to meet success in the next phase of their education and desired to be life-long learners.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe The Children's College Professional Childcare Services that quality childcare facilitates the healthy growth and development of the 'whole child'. We believe all children are different and unique. Our environment accepts and encourages children to express their full potential in all aspects of their individual development. Children learning through "out of the box" experiences and self-directed activities, brings out a child's natural curiosity to explore their environment. We created a dynamic setting that stimulates physical, social, emotional and cognitive development with a goal to maximize their potential. We plan lessons based on their prior knowledge, developmental needs, ideas, interests of cultural backgrounds, recognizing multiculturalism and the significance of their primary language. We build skills for their independence. Our goal is to assist families in the task of providing a strong foundation for their child's future development. Bringing child, parent, families and educator together as a whole.
OUR PROGRAM
The Children's College indoor classroom is Montessori-inspired allowing the children to do more hands-on learning and developing real-world skills. Our outdoor classroom is a Nature-Based program with certification from Nature Explorer.
One reason we wanted to change our program to a more natural environment is to give children the opportunity to explore more and become more creative. Elevating the children’s critical and scientific thinking in the world they live in.
I believe our space will be changing our relationships with parents and children because our setting feels more like a home away from home in a natural setting.
With warm colors on the walls, framed art flowers in vases, baskets where we explain to our children were made from working hands in other countries and soft elements that give that home away from home feel.
